From the talented band, Palette-Swap Ninja, which first caught our ear with their popular hit “Halo ((All I Play-Oh)),” a parody of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Snow ((Hey Oh)),” comes “Learn To Spell,” another brilliant parody, this time of The All American Rejects’ “Gives You Hell.”

Described as part whine-fest, part PSA, and part rallying cry, “Learn to Spell” is an open letter to all the gamers who spend endless hours on forums arguing about which game console is better, while seemingly unable to spell basic words or write grammatically correct sentences. As the West Coast half of the duo, Dan Amrich says, “If you’ve ever used the number 2 when you should have typed “to” (or “too,” or even “two”) then this parody is 4 u.”

Palette-Swap Ninja, is comprised of magazine editor, Dan Amrich, and chemistry professor, Jude Kelley, who live on opposite coasts and count on technology to combine their talent and come up with their fresh and shrewd songs.

Dan plays the guitars, bass, and sings vocals while Jude dominates the keyboard and electric drum; both come up with the lyrics together. And, in “Learn to Spell,” Dan and Jude added an extra musical element – their fans’ voices. They invited them to record themselves singing the chorus, and then combined these recordings to make a cyber chorus, producing a sound similar to the original All American Rejects song.  The resulting song is both impressive from a musical standpoint and one that will resonate with gamers across all consoles.
