We’re excited to announce that we just launched a Twitter API, Chir.ps (http://chir.ps), a way for users to tweet audio clips. These audio clips can come in a variety of forms – whether it is something you recorded, i.e. your own voice, sounds from an event, a question you pose to your twitter followers; an audio clip you found on the Internet or on Entertonement.com; or an audio file you’d like to upload from your computer.
To tweet an audio clip, log into http://chir.ps with your Twitter username and …

We’ve all found ourselves at one point or another discovering a video game, whether by deliberately looking for a distraction from work or school, based on a friend’s recommendation, or from something we’ve read. And while games labeled “casual” don’t have the complexities and level of commitment of something like World of Warcraft or Halo, they are nonetheless certainly entertaining and most definitely addicting.
Below are 7 addicting games that have us hooked:

From the talented band, Palette-Swap Ninja, which first caught our ear with their popular hit “Halo ((All I Play-Oh)),” a parody of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Snow ((Hey Oh)),” comes “Learn To Spell,” another brilliant parody, this time of The All American Rejects’ “Gives You Hell.”
Described as part whine-fest, part PSA, and part rallying cry, “Learn to Spell” is an open letter to all the gamers who spend endless hours on forums arguing about which game console is better, while seemingly unable to spell basic words or write …

911 Calls, Featured, Politics & News »
When New Yorkers looked outside their windows last week, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Flying low and flanked by an F-16 fighter jet was a 747 airplane. As the two planes approached, they saw that the F-16 wasn’t trailing just any 747, but rather Air Force One and that it was heading right for Manhattan. Their thoughts immediately raced to 9/11, and scared that this plane would also fly into a tall building, they fearfully dropped everything and ran.
Hundreds of people, both in Manhattan and elsewhere in New York, …
911 Calls, Featured »
From an early age, we learn that 911 stands for emergency. It’s the number we call if the house is on fire, there’s been a robbery, or someone’s been hurt.
Lately, there has been a surge of young children calling 911. A few weeks ago, it was an absolutely adorable 4-year-old boy who called 911 for help with his “take aways” (subtraction). The operator, first thinking that the boy had a problem with his “mouth,” instead of his “math,” went ahead and helped. However, the call was soon disconnected once the …

Usually when we think of 911 calls, we think of people in distress, panicked and urgently needing help. Such was the case with the recent 911 call following the brutal chimp attack that landed a woman in the ICU with terrible facial injuries.
Other 911 calls, however, have been less bone chilling and more amusing, especially since some callers have turned 911 into a sort of complaint hotline. Such was the case when a woman dialed 9-1-1 about a wrong burger order, insisting that they send an officer down to Burger …

With the beginning notes reminiscent of Eric Clapton’s “Layla,” Corey Doak’s songs tap into the folkloric vein of American music. The melodies flow and relax, music perfect for sitting on the front porch sipping a cool whiskey or a mint julep.
Doak’s most recent album, “Light on the Darkest Line” was nominated for multiple awards including the Western Canadian Music Awards, Covenant Awards, and Okanagan Music Awards, with fans comparing the sounds to such artists as Simon and Garfunkel and James Taylor.
For a taste of his music, listen in.
